A tarot reading interrupted by a visit from Apollo.
I am thinking of Love today - in my spirit, in my heart, as a central idea of living, and looking for words that could be or say more than a pale reflection of it, merely a pointer toward this main organizing principle of all creation, an aspect within the Original First Cause.
Between people, between tribes, within people and within tribes, or nations, worlds, galaxies, throughout the cosmos, at the dinner table and in bed, love can change all of everything and we cannot even say what it is. All we have is a name.
The Tarot speaks in its symbols, the modern hieroglyphics that do not translate into mundane material language, yet we want to talk about these things, to learn, to grow. What can Tarot tell - or show - about these things?
Before I shuffle and deal, Apollo jumps up, coming out of the north-northwest ecliptic, and wants to speak first. You don't tug on Superman's cape and you don't deny Apollo. So OK man, whaddaya got?
"You are onto something here. That thing you speak of, that thing behind the name you've used, is part of the power that raises up my chariot in the morning, and lies behind the fire inside the sun that gives you life. That power has many aspects. Fire is a similar facet for which you only have a name. You have no idea what it really is or how it works beyond its lower grade forms. Yet its energy changes air, hydrogen and helium, into earth and water. Inside stars, inside Sol himself. Gravity, energy, fire, creation, are all facets and these are just the lower level forms. Look above for more.
"We come to joy, wisdom, love, more names that only point toward more realities, unspeakable forces that guide the rest. Even beyond these are intelligence and consciousness. More names. Faith, hope and charity. Whole books on each name could only be shadows pointing toward the real truth.
"So do the best you can, come closer, there is more to know, room to grow. Unpack the deeper meaning, one layer at a time, along your chosen path. We honor your work."
